Verification of Census Officer Identity
During the second phase of enumeration from 16 July to 2 August of the 2011 Population Census, census officers will visit households which have not chosen the self-enumeration mode in providing information in the first phase of enumeration from 30 June to 15 July 2011.
All census officers will carry a Census Officer's Certificate of Identity issued by the Census and Statistics Department. This certificate will bear the photo, name and identity number of the census officer concerned. Census officers will also carry a red satchel with the census logo, and wear a census officer uniform (green T-shirt with purple collar and the words "Population Census" printed at the back) and a census badge.
Households are reminded to check the identity of the census officers before interview. In case of doubt, please call the 2011 Population Census Telephone Enquiry Centre [Service hours: 23 June 2011 - 2 August 2011 (Monday to Sunday, including public holidays), from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.] at 2153 2011.
Where necessary, census officers may contact individual households which have ever provided information for the 2011 Population Census by phone for follow-ups in the two phases of enumeration. The phone number of the Telephone Enquiry Centre (2153 2011) will be displayed for all calls made by census officers for this purpose. In case of doubt, the households concerned should call the Telephone Enquiry Centre for verification.
