Fact Sheets for District Council Constituency Areas and Tertiary Planning Units of the 2011 Population Census Released
According to the results of the 2011 Population Census, the median age of the population living in Kwun Tong District Council On Lee at 50.5 was the highest among all the District Council Constituency Areas. The median age of Yuen Long District Council Tin Heng was 28.2, the lowest among all the District Council Constituency Areas.
Sham Shui Po District Council Lai Chi Kok North had the highest labour force participation rate (75.1%) whereas the lowest labour force participation rate was recorded in Fu Cheong of the same District Council (45.7%).
There were 9 967 domestic households in Tuen Mun District Council Po Tin, the greatest number among all the District Council Constituency Areas. On the other hand, this District Council Constituency Area had the lowest average domestic household size (1.8).
More detailed results of the 2011 Population Census by District Council Constituency Area can be found in the fact sheets for District Council Constituency Areas released by the Census and Statistics Department today (31 May). Each fact sheet provides statistical information on the demographic, educational, economic and internal migration characteristics of the population in the District Council Constituency Area concerned as well as their household and housing characteristics.
Fact sheets for Tertiary Planning Units have also been released today. The Tertiary Planning Units are defined by the Planning Department and mainly used for town planning purposes.
All those fact sheets and the boundary maps for District Council Constituency Areas and Tertiary Planning Units are available for downloading free-of-charge from the website of the 2011 Population Census (http://www.census2011.gov.hk/en/district-profiles.html).
Fact sheets for major housing estates will be released on the website of the 2011 Population Census for free downloading later this year.
